Emigrants

Flowing from representations made, Authorised Dealers are advised of the following amendments to Section B.2(E) of the Exchange Control Rulings:

Section B.2(E)(iii)(a)(cc)

The entire subsection has been deleted and substituted with the following:

“release up to R750,000 per calendar year to cover local living expenses whilst visiting the Republic. Any unutilised funds are to be recredited to the relative blocked account on departure;”

Section B.2(E)(iii)(a)(rr)

The limit of “R100,000” has been deleted and substituted with “R750,000”.

Section B.2(E)(iii)(a)(ss)

The entire subsection has been deleted and substituted with the following:

“payment of maintenance and alterations to fixed property which form part of the emigrants’ controlled assets against the submission of documentary evidence;”

A replacement page of the Exchange Control Rulings, incorporating the relevant amendments, is attached hereto.
